Fraud protection prevents your partners from making actions like selling the products back to themselves and earning rewards from it. Enabling this option can help you avoid fraud in your business by blocking rewards for your partner if a given sale triggers any way of Fraud Protection you have selected.
We provide four ways of Fraud Protection:
- Same email address
Your partner's reward will be blocked if both, your partner and their customer, use the same email address.
- Same IP address
Your partner's reward will be blocked if both, your partner and their customer, are using the same IP address. In case you are not familiar with computer networks: IP address is a unique number assigned to a device such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone when it is in a network, so if your customer and partner have the same IP address they are most probably using the same device.
- Same first and last name
Your partner's reward will be blocked if both, your partner and their customer, have the same first and last name. Please have in mind that it is possible for two different people to happen to have the same first and last name.
- Partner and customer refer each other
Your partner's reward will be blocked if they use a reference link of a partner who used their reference link before. Example: if partner A uses a referral link from partner B then partner A will not get any reward from partner B sales when ref link used.
- Customer tagged with "growthhero_ignore"
You can add the growthhero_ignore tag to your customers in Shopify if you don't want their orders to be forwarded to GrowthHero even if they use a Referral Link or Partner's discount code.
